Northwest College is sponsoring the annual Showalter Music Festival. This esteemed event is open to Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Guitar, Vocal, and Piano students grades 5 – 8. Cost per entry is $12, and each entry receives a 6-minute performance slot. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, January 18th.
This festival is named in memory of Dr. Victor Showalter, former Professor of Music at Northwest College, who started the festival in 1975.
Adjudicators will rate all completed performances as Superior, Good, or Fair. Please familiarize your students with the rating system. Superior ratings will receive a blue ribbon and a certificate. Ratings of Good and Fair will receive certificates only. Each adjudicator will select the best performance for their area and a Musicianship Award will be mailed to the students’ director.
Outstanding performers will be given the option to perform in the afternoon’s Honors Concert.
If a student cannot perform please report it to the Festival Office as soon as you can. Schools will still be responsible for payment of entries that are scratched after January 30, 2024.
