Join the Northwest Civic Orchestra for it’s first concert of the season with Maurine Akin, orchestra conductor. This evening will feature several smaller group performances.

This fall, join the NWC Concert Band, Collegiate Chorale and Percussion Ensemble as students present their repertoire for our annual Fall concert.  Directed by Zach Paris and Eric Hagmann. Admission is FREE!

Hear the NWC jazz ensembles including Jazz Band, Jazz Combos, and Studio Singers & Sixth Street Vocal Jazz.  Directed by Zach Paris, Eric Hagmann, and Andrey Goncalvez.  Admission is FREE!

The 2026 North Big Horn Basin District Music Clinic showcases the top high school students from around the Big Horn Basin and offers experience in a large ensemble under the direction of a guest conductor of recognized excellence. Choir and band students spend two days working on music which will be presented at a concert on Saturday, November 21st at 2:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free.

The Northwest College Collegiate Chorale and Powell High School Choir are excited to return to the stage to present their annual Vespers concert on Wednesday, Dec. 9. 5:00 PM & 7:00 PM Due to overwhelming popularity, we are excited to announce a second performance this year at 5:00 p.m. in addition to the 7:00 p.m. performance. This much-loved holiday-music event is hosted at the Powell Church of God located at 137 West Second Street in Powell. The concert is free and open to the public.  Under the direction of Eric Hagmann at NWC and Drew Murray at PHS, the two ensembles will present a wonderful program of choral music ranging from holiday favorites to spirituals along with a wide selection of sacred and secular works. Please join the Powell community to celebrate this holiday season through an evening of music brought to you by the students of Northwest College and Powell High School.

Join the Northwest Civic Orchestra for a festive holiday concert featuring plenty of holiday cheer and treats during the reception after the concert! Tickets are available at the door. The Wyoming High School Activities Association and the Wyoming Music Educators Association are pleased to provide a high quality rehearsal and performance opportunity for students through All-State Honor Band, Orchestra, and Choir in Evanston, WY. Northwest College is proud to host the 2026-2027 high school All-State Jazz ensembles featuring jazz bands and vocal jazz. A concert showcasing the student’s work will take place in the Nelson Performing Arts Auditorium at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 2nd. Visit wyojazz.org for more information.

Northwest College is sponsoring the 52nd annual Showalter Music Festival. This esteemed event is open to Brass, Woodwind, Percussion, Guitar, Vocal, and Piano students grades 5 – 8. Certificates are awarded for musicianship along with scholarships to the Yellowstone Summer Music Camp. Please see the Festival page here for registration and schedule details. This festival is named in memory of Dr. Victor Showalter, former Professor of Music at Northwest College, who started the festival in 1975.

The 44th Annual Northwest College Jazz Festival is a non-competitive performance opportunity for vocal and instrumental jazz groups at all levels of proficiency. During the day, high-quality assessment and instruction will be provided by respected jazz educators in a positive and constructive learning environment which encourages young musicians and teachers to grow through camaraderie and musical exchange. This year, the concert begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelson Performing Arts Building Auditorium on the Northwest College campus, guest artists TBA.
